Patients benefit most from MIC. Some parents prefer KKH@Home due to concerns about increased infection risks in hospitals and high noise levels that might affect their child’s sleep.
There is a high enrolment rate for neonatal jaundice cases because mothers prefer not to have to travel to the hospital to visit their newborns. This program encourages recovery at home, which is something many parents have wanted for a long time.
For example in dermatology patients, especially those with eczema, one significant benefit of MIC@Home is that parents learn how to apply the creams properly from the start through being actively involved in the care. We are assessing our eczema patients for admission into KKH@Home to evaluate their level of learning and care.
